CarnaLife Holo supports innovative surgery of advanced gastrointestinal cancers
Szpital na Klinach, Neo Hospital Group
A team led by Dr Ryszard Wierzbicki at Szpital na Klinach in Kraków used CarnaLife Holo to plan and perform procedures on liver and pancreatic tumours using irreversible electroporation (IRE) and microwave ablation (MWA). The 3D visualisation made it possible to determine precisely the size and topography of lesions previously considered unresectable by classical methods.

Abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery with CarnaLife Holo
Department of Vascular Surgery and Angiology, University Hospital No. 1 in Lublin
A vascular surgery team in Lublin performed a pioneering operation on a patient with an abdominal aortic aneurysm, supported by CarnaLife Holo. Three-dimensional holograms of the patient's anatomy, reconstructed from CT, were available in Microsoft HoloLens 2 goggles in real time.

A breakthrough technology for three-dimensional visualisation of medical imaging data
ECZ Otwock
At ECZ Otwock, Professor Marcin Kurzyna and Dr Szymon Daroch performed pulmonary artery angioplasty on a patient with CTEPH. Holographic visualisation of the complex structure of the pulmonary arteries allowed precise navigation in vessels only 2–6 millimetres in diameter.

CarnaLife Holo visualises echocardiographic data imported or streamed from GE Vivid echocardiographs using the Stream Server function. The 3DE data stream is carried live into mixed reality, where the interventional cardiologist sees the echo as a realistic hologram controlled independently of the current ultrasound view — touch-free, through gestures and head movement.

Support of the diagnostic process during orthopaedic procedures
Carolina Medical Center
At Carolina Medical Center — one of the largest private orthopaedic and sports medicine hospitals in Europe — Dr Andrzej Komor performed a foot reconstruction and ankle joint replacement procedures. Success depended on designing an implant perfectly matched to the patient's bone. CarnaLife Holo made it possible to verify the arrangement of anatomical structures before surgery and to work with the hologram in theatre while maintaining sterility, without losing sight of the operating field.
